The Sesquicentennial Celebration of July 4, 1976 was a big day for the Nation, and a big day for KILT’s Robert B. McEntire. That’s the day the veteran newscaster assumed anchor duties on The Hudson & Harrigan Show.
Prior to the morning shift, McEntire worked mid-days and nights at KILT, and had previous radio jobs in Beaumont and his hometown of Lufkin.
Robert B. has won virtually every award offered by The Associated Press, United Press International, and the Houston Press Club. Honors include Best Newscaster, Best Feature, Best On-Scene Reporting, Best Editorial, Best Commentary, and Best News Writing.
Robert B. lives in old Sugar Land with his wife Jayne and his beloved animals. He can be heard at 20 past the hour and 10 before the top of each hour during The Hudson & Harrigan Show each weekday morning between 5 and 10.
In 2002, Robert B. was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. |
